About this course

Mission-Ready Resilience for government and defense teams: fifteen skills to adapt, recover, and keep performing under sustained pressure.

Between what happens to you and how you respond there is a step: your interpretation. You cannot always control events, but you can train what happens next. Fifteen skills under five pillars (Self-Knowledge, Composure Under Pressure, Accurate Thinking, Strength Deployment, and Team Connection) are taught in four modules, drawn from published research in cognitive-behavioral psychology, positive psychology, sport and military performance science, and organizational behavior. Each skill is practical the same day you learn it.

The Fort Wyland Logistics Readiness Center has 900 people moving freight for every unit on the installation. Its twelve-person Bay 4 crew of federal civilians, with soldiers detailed in during surges, is led by a crew lead five years in. Over one year of consolidation, a failed audit, a short-handed peak, and a merger of two crews, every skill gets a live test.

What you will be able to do

  • Apply the TARGET goal-setting method and the Daily Wins Debrief to a real personal or professional objective.
  • Analyze personal reactions to adverse events using the SIR Loop, and correct distorted thinking using the six static patterns, anchor-belief probes, and the six-step Problem Drill.
  • Employ the four composure skills — Reality Ranging, Tactical Reset, Rapid Reframe, and Attention Shift — to regulate thought spirals and the physical stress response in real time.
  • Integrate character-strength deployment and constructive communication (CLEAR, Precision Praise, Amplify the Win) to strengthen individual and team performance.

Who it is for

Anyone whose work puts them under sustained pressure, and the teams they work in. The skills are individual and are practiced on a real personal or professional objective; the last module applies them to team communication.

This edition's scenarios, examples, and vocabulary are set in a government and defense organization. The objectives and standards are the same in every edition.
